Have you ever considered that
God seeks worshipers?

Message #10 (of 20) from the PrayerPower radio series
"Worship in Prayer"

by Kaye Johns

Jesus told the woman at the well, "...a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks." [John 4:21-24, emphasis added]

Our Father seeks worshipers. It reminds me of the verse in 2 Chronicles: "For the eyes of the Lord search back and forth across the whole earth, looking for people whose hearts are perfect toward him, so that he can show his great power in helping them." [2 Chronicles 16:9, TLB]

Our hearts are perfect toward the Lord when we love Him with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, as we’re commanded. [Deuteronomy 6:5, Matthew 22:37-39] Love like that is nurtured through an abiding love relationship in which we spend consistent, personal time in prayer and in reading His Word.

Over time, we come to know Him, and as we know Him, we grow to trust Him. We begin to understand how much He loves us, and our response is to love Him in return--tentatively at first, then more certainly, until the day comes when we love Him more than any other person or thing in our lives.

When we truly love the Lord, we cannot help expressing our love through worship and adoration in prayer. It’s what He wants. It’s what He seeks.

Pray with me now -- Precious Lord, how we love you. We don’t always express it as we wish we could, but read our hearts. May they be perfect toward You, in Jesus’ name, amen.
