Holy Lord,

As we reflect on the truths we’ve learned from 1 John, we find You as John knew You, a God of love, Who loves us perfectly in many ways. We thank You that You are willing to live in a love relationship with each one of us Who are Your children. We are grateful and amazed that You desire and make it possible for us to experience the kind of fellowship with You that brings the closeness that helps us hear and recognize Your voice.

Father, teach us all things and reveal Your will. Help us to be people of prayer who are sensitive to sin and quickly confess so that we may be forgiven. Help us to experience the joy of a quiet and unbroken relationship with You. Enable us to live close to You and to obey Your commands and live lives that are pleasing to You.

Lord, help us learn to love You more and more, and to love one another, as Christ loves us. Empower us to do what is right, and give us Your victory over sin and Satan.

Help us, Father, to be aware of Your presence in our lives, and of Your love. Let Your love be made complete in us to satisfy Your great heart. Let our love be made complete in You, that we may understand all that love is meant to be, for we ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.
