Are we living in love?

Message #19 (of 20) from the PrayerPower radio series
"Spiritual Intimacy"

by Kaye Johns

The apostle John writes, "God is love. Whoever lives in love, lives in God, and God in him." [1 John 4:12] John’s letter explains God’s love. God loved us so much He sent His only Son to die as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. [1 John 4:10] We have life in His Son [1 John 5:11], and He assures us of our eternal life. [1 John 5:13] He gives life to those we pray for. [1 John 5:16]

He is willing to fellowship personally with us [1 John 1:3], to live in us [1 John 3:24, 4:12, 13, 15, 16] and allow us to live in Him [1 John 3:24, 4:13, 15, 16, 5:20], and to know Him. [1 John 4:7] He has given us His Holy Spirit [1 John 2:20, 3:24], to abide in us and teach us all things [1 John 2:27], to enable us to love and have fellowship with our brothers [1 John 3:1, 1:7], and do what is right [1 John 3:1].

The blood of Jesus purifies us from sin [1 John 1:7]; God forgives our sins [1 John 1:9], and He purifies us from all unrighteousness. [1 John 1:8] Jesus, our defender [1 John 2:1], laid down His life for us [1 John 3:16] and has taken away our sins [1 John 4:17] by giving Himself as our sacrifice. [1 John 2:1]

God brought us from death to life [1 John 3:14], made us like Himself [1 John 3:2], made us His children [1 John 3:1], and allows us to walk in His light. He takes away our fear [1 John 4:18], and keeps us safe from the evil one. [1 John 5:18] God answers our prayers [1 John 3:21-22, 5:14-15], and His love is made complete in us. [1 John 2:5, 4:12, 17]

How could we not desire to live in spiritual intimacy with one Who loves us so much?

Pray with me now--Lord, help us live in Your love as fully as we can, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
