Do we have the Breath of Life?
Message
#10 (of 20) from the PrayerPower radio series
When God puts His New Spirit in us, He comes as the One identified in Revelation 11 as the very Breath of Life: "the two prophets were killed, and after three and a half days, a breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet...." [Rev. 11:11] Gods New Spirit is the Breath of Life, the One Who gives spiritual rebirth [John 3:5], Who regenerates hearts [Titus 3:5], Who makes those who are dead in their sins alive with Christ [Eph. 2:5], Who enables us to see and enter the kingdom of God [John 3:3,5]. The Breath of Life, the very Spirit of Life [Rom. 8:2], not only gives spiritual rebirth, but He indwells us to sustain our life in Christ [Rom. 8:11]. It is His presence that gives us assurance of salvation, for Paul tells us it is the Spirit Himself Who testifies with our spirit that we are Gods children [Rom. 8:14]. We have no other assurance. If the Breath of Life, the very Spirit of Life, indwells us, it is evidence that we have been born again--we are new creations in Christ, the old is gone, the new has come [2 Cor. 5:17]. It doesnt happen all at once, but it begins to happen--at once. Have you experienced this newness of life?
If not, you may want to pray with me now -- Lord, only You could give me the desire to be born again. I come to give my life to Christ, to acknowledge that He died for my sins, and to ask forgiveness for those sins. I ask for the Breath of Life in His name. Amen.
