"The Deeper Life of Prayer"

Holy Father,

We want to grow into the deeper life of prayer. We know we must start at the beginning, so we ask You to help us have a consistent, daily quiet time with You. Teach us what it means to hallow Your name, to surrender our lives and our will, to learn to ask for everything we need. Give us increased sensitivity to sin, that we may daily confess and be forgiven. We ask You not to put us to the test, but to deliver us from the evil one, for He hates it when we become people of prayer.

Help us to know You as our heavenly Father Who will give more abundantly than any earthly Father could or would. We want to learn to live the life that can ask, seek, and knock--knowing we will receive what is good and right and best from You. Strengthen us that we can.

May we be those who are persistent and bold in our prayers, who always pray without giving up. May we have such strong faith that we can say to any mountain, "move into the sea," and know that it will crumble before our eyes. May we live the abiding and Spirit-filled life that bears lasting fruit and shows us to be Jesus’ disciples.

Help us to pray in Jesus’ name, according to His character and nature, those prayers that will advance His kingdom and bring glory to You, for we ask in His name. Amen.
