Gods will for the lost
Message

One of the secrets to answered prayer is to pray in Gods will [1 John 5:14-15]--and thats easy to do, when we can find specific promises or verses in the Bible that indicate His will. When were praying for the lost, we can know--and remind God in our prayers that we know-- He does not want "anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." Thats 2 Peter 3:9. We can know when we are interceding for the lost, that it pleases God, who wants "all men to be saved." Paul tells us that in 1 Timothy 2:4. Second Corinthians 5:15 states that Jesus "died for all;" and in verse 19 we read that God was reconciling "the world" to himself in Christ. Those are strong truths to take to God in our prayers, truths to stand on. But we must also remember, this is not an automatic reconciliation. No one is transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light against his will. We have to choose life through Christ. Jesus said, "...whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life." [John 5:24] We choose to believe.Thats why it is so important that we pray for the lost, and that we pray as strongly and specifically as we can. The lost are lost until they choose. God wont make the choice for them, but He will use our prayers to draw and enable them [John 6:44,65]. He wants them to come, and He is seeking intercessors [Isaiah 62:6; 1 Tim. 2:1-4] who will pray according to His will.
Pray with me now -- Father, help us approach Your throne of grace with confidence, as we pray in your will that those we love will choose life. In Jesus name, amen.
