Saved through Gods light of knowledge
Message

Its sometimes difficult for believers to understand why the lost have such trouble seeing and accepting Jesus as the Son of God to save them from their sins. We must remember that Paul wrote that the god of this age, Satan, has "blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel...." [2 Corinthians 4:4]Yet in that same passage from 2 Corinthians 4, he adds a word of victory: "For God, who said, Let light shine out of darkness, made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ." [2 Corinthians 4:6]It is the Father who makes His light of truth shine in the hearts of the lost to draw and to enable them [John 6:44, 65] to understand the truth of Who Christ is. When Jesus asked His disciples, "Who do you say I am?" [Matthew 16:15], Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. Jesus replied, Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven." [Matthew 16:16-17]It wasnt enough for Peter to know Jesus as a man, no matter how much he admired and respected him. Peter had to believe that Jesus was the Christ, the Son of the living God--and on his own, even in Jesus presence, he could not see it. God had to reveal it. We must trust God to hear our prayers for the lost, knowing that as we ask, He is able to reveal His truth yet today--that they see clearly Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God.
Pray with me now -- Father, dont let Satan get away with blinding the minds of those we love. Shed Your light in their hearts, for we ask in Jesus name. Amen.
