Holy Father God,

We ask for spiritual discernment that we may understand how real Satan and his kingdom of darkness are, and what a significant threat they pose to this world and to Your children. Unless we see Satan as a real adversary, we will not take a stand in prayer against him, and he will have free reign in our lives, and in the lives of those we love.

Lord Jesus, thank You for allowing us the privilege of using Your name, Your authority against Satan. Help us to take that responsibility seriously, and to be courageous as we pray.

Christ Jesus, You are our armor of light. Help us to live secure in our love relationship with You, knowing that our armor is full and complete. You are our belt of Truth, our breastplate of Righteousness, our Prince of Peace Who has reconciled us to our God. You are our shield of faith, our helmet of salvation--and You are the incarnate Word of God.

Lord, we come to prayer clothed in You. You are our Christ. We are hidden in You and filled with Your Spirit. Help us stand our ground and give us courage to take on Satan with the sword of the Spirit, Your Word of truth--for Satan cannot stand against us, when we stand in You. May that truth be real in our lives, for we ask in Your holy name. Amen.
