Are we drawn to prayer?
Message

If we are not growing in our understanding of and commitment to praying for ourselves and others, perhaps we should go to the Lord and ask why. We know that Christ who lives in us "ever lives to intercede" [Hebrews 7:25]. His Holy Spirit who lives in the heart of all children of God is the Spirit of supplication [Zechariah 12:10], of prayer. And our heavenly Father actually seeks intercessors, saying in Ezekiel: "I looked for a man among them who would...stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land...but I found none." [Ezekiel 22:30] If Father, Son and Holy Spirit are seeking, searching, desiring, commanding that we pray for ourselves and others--and if we are not being continually drawn in that direction--shouldnt we wonder why? It could be were resisting, or just not listening, or even disobeying the prompting of His Spirit. Or it could be that you, like me just a few years ago, send up a prayer now and then, but never feel connected to the Lord. I settled that once and for all by making a conscious decision about what I believed--that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died for my sins. I confessed my sins and received Him as Lord and Savior, and Ive never been the same.
If youve never had that experience, you may want to pray with me now--Lord, I believe Jesus is the Son of God and that He died for my sins. Please forgive me and grant me new life in Him, for I ask in His name, my Savior and Lord, amen.
