Lord Jesus,

We want to be Your faithful disciples who live the abiding life. We acknowledge You as our True Vine and ask You to help us, through the power of Your Spirit’s life within us, to live the branch-life, emptied of self and centered on You. Help us to be disciplined enough to spend time in Your Word, that all that You taught might abide in us.

Help us to live in such a way that our hearts do not condemn us, to live lives that are obedient and pleasing to You, that our fellowship remains unbroken so that we can, through Your Spirit, discern and pray according to Your will. Give us the gift of faith, faith strong enough to say to the mountain, move into the sea, and to know it will crumble before our very eyes. Help us to pray without doubt, believing we have received before we see the answers to our prayers.

Holy Lord, we want to know You well enough that we can pray in Your name, according to Your character, Your nature, all that You are. Teach us to pray in Your Spirit for things that will advance Your kingdom and glorify our Father. Strengthen us from within, that we may live the lives and pray the prayers that will bear lasting fruit.
