Immediate Intercession

by Kaye Johns

When someone asks for prayer, it’s best to pray right then, "on the spot," simply pulling aside from whatever else is happening. It doesn’t have to be formal or obvious to others; simply close your eyes and speak softly.

It works on the phone, as well. If someone calls and asks for prayer, pray before you hang up. Such immediate prayers are helpful in two ways:

1. They give the person the comfort of hearing your prayer.

2. They relieve you of the responsibility of remembering the request.
